Finding balance: A Tarot Spread for Mind, Body, and Spirit

Finding balance: A Tarot Spread for Mind, Body, and Spirit

As a mum of 3 under 5/ gallery owner/ post-graduate researcher/ perpetual student/ husband's work assistant and full-time tarot reader, I know a thing or two about work-life balance- I know that I constantly fail at it and it's more elusive than a dream! Sometimes I get so caught up in my to-do lists and work that it's easy to lose track of my overall well-being. So, I carve out 10-minutes a week for one very special reading...

Unlike a simple "yes/no" reading, this three-card spread gives a holistic check-in, helping me better understand where I am, and what I need to move forward. This is how I do it:

Card 1: The Mind

This first card represents my current mental state. It's a window into my thoughts, beliefs, and conscious energy.

  • Is the card upright or reversed? An upright card might show a clear, focused mind, while a reversed card could indicate mental clutter, overthinking, or stubborn beliefs.

  • What emotions does the card evoke? It can reveal whether I'm feeling inspired and creative, or stressed and anxious.

  • How does the card's message relate to the questions I've been asking myself lately?

The message from this card helps me identify the mental patterns and beliefs that are either serving me or holding me back.

Card 2: The Body

The second card connects to my physical state and how I'm manifesting my energy in the world. It’s not just about health, but also about how I act and interact.

  • Does the card suggest physical vitality and movement, or does it point to stagnation and a need for rest?

  • Am I being called to take action in a new way, or to ground myself more?

  • Look for clues about how my inner state (from the Mind card) is affecting my physical reality.

This card is a direct message from my body, reminding me to listen to its signals and address its needs.

Card 3: The Spirit

The final card taps into my spiritual connection and purpose. This is the heart of the reading, showing me where my soul is on its journey.

  • Is my spirit feeling aligned and purposeful, or is it searching for a new path?

  • Does the card suggest a need to reconnect with my intuition, or to embrace a deeper sense of faith?

  • Is my mind/body supporting my spiritual growth?

The Spirit card often offers the highest guidance, a reminder of my true path and the deeper meaning behind my current experiences. To see what these look like visit my instagram account!
